San Cristóbal de las Casas was founded in 1528. Centuries later, at the architectural height of the colonial era in 1740, the mansion we know today as Casavieja was built.
This venue was meticulously adapted while respecting its original adobe structure, wide patios, majestic arcades, clay roof tiles, and timber beams. Due to its characteristics, it received the Presidential Decree of Historical Monuments on December 4, 1986.
Today, Casavieja stands not only as a boutique hotel, but as a guardian of Chiapas cultural heritage, proudly certified under the "Treasures of Mexico" program.
