One of the old houses in the city is home to Hotel Casavieja at 27 of Calle Maria Adelina Flores in the Barrio de Guadalupe, declared a historical monument by decree published in the official journal of the federal government's on December 4, 1986

The house was built in the early eighteenth century with walls covered with adobe mortar, brick floors lined with stone, wood and roofing shingles. Both the central part and the annexes of the house have been preserved with care and true dedication

Ciudad Real de Chiapa, today San Cristobal de las Casas , in the southern state of Chiapas Mexico, was founded on March 31 1528 by the conquistador Spanish Diego de Mazariegos, a native of Ciudad Real Spain, in the presence of Jerónimo de Caceres, royal scribe

The city is located in a fertile, forest valley, averages 18 ° C per year, still retains much of its original features: The original city center layout, the Cathedral, the houses of the founders and the merchant's portals; the old neighborhoods, the artesanal craft industry, the traditional cooking art, the bakery, etc..

Another great attraction are the indigenous cultures surrounding the city and which are incorporated in thousands of ways to the city's life.

The old city made of adobe and mortar, wood and tiles, which the pass of time covers with shadows, has become a privileged resting place of scientific interest with superior natural and artistic attractions.
